Optical appearance is not an authentication process
A reflective or colour-changing surface does not by itself establish a product’s origin. A security application defines the optical feature to inspect, an authorised reference and who performs the check. Decorative holographic appearance is different from that controlled process.
Define the evidence expected after opening or removal
Holostik’s official OVD portfolio describes VOID, partial-transfer and destructive structures. These are manufacturer portfolio examples; availability and suitability for a specific Türkiye project require separate confirmation.
Specify whether the control concerns opening a cap, removing a label or refilling the package. Agree the visible evidence and the user’s response before testing a sample.
Hologram, unique identity and controlled verification
Holostik describes QR and serial-number options alongside holographic security. A QR that opens a webpage differs from an identity assigned to an individual unit and checked by a verification service. An exposed static code can be copied; the response depends on the verification design.
The existing GirisimEngineering assessment example considers a holographic area, unique QR or serial and, where relevant, a scratch layer partly concealing QR access. Acceptance questions cover scanning, scratch residue, adhesion, applicator compatibility and duplicate scans. This describes an evaluation method, not a measured outcome or a universally suitable construction.
Evaluate substrate and application together
Carton, plastic caps, bottles, existing labels and flexible packaging do not provide identical bonding conditions. Coating, curvature, cleanliness and service conditions must be assessed before adhesive suitability is confirmed.
Holostik describes sheet and roll formats. Manual application requires consistent positioning; automated application requires review of feed direction, liner, label release and equipment compatibility. No line speed is assumed without a relevant trial.
Eight criteria for a security-label project in Türkiye
Use these criteria to define a comparable technical requirement, not to rank suppliers.
- Threat: distinguish counterfeiting, opening, refilling and unit authentication.
- Substrate: identify the actual material, coating and application location.
- Tamper response: specify the visible evidence required after interference.
- Physical inspection: distinguish consumer checks from trained inspection.
- Digital verification: define identity ownership and the response to suspicious results.
- Application: identify manual or automated handling and existing line constraints.
- Personalisation: define optical design, serialisation and variable data requirements.
- Sample acceptance: agree adhesion, opening evidence, scanning and application criteria.
When a hologram may not be enough
Reuse of original packaging, copying a valid code and unauthorised supply-chain movement require different controls. Depending on the threat, tamper evidence, unique identity, digital verification and operational investigation may need to work together. No individual feature guarantees authenticity.
From requirement to sample and commercial specification
GirisimEngineering provides Türkiye-based technical and commercial coordination; it does not manufacture the labels. Holostik is the represented manufacturer and technology source. Family-level representation does not automatically confirm every construction.
The workflow is requirement definition → technical review → manufacturer coordination → sample or application trial where needed → confirmed commercial specification. The preliminary assessment is not final engineering approval.
